(I am working on making a 2 wall or progressive funky "Black Velvet" type version of this dance
for the late night crowd of kids so they can do it in a very close congo type line - probably
making the last 8 counts a 3/4 turn instead of full turn - feel free to experiment with it!)
HIP BUMPS DIAGONAL FORWARD 4X
1 Touch Right diagonally forward bumping right hip
2 Step on right diagonally forward bumping right hip
3 Touch Left diagonally forward bumping left hip
4 Step on left diagonally forward bumping left hip
5 Touch Right diagonally forward bumping right hip
6 Step on right diagonally forward bumping right hip
7 Touch Left diagonally forward bumping left hip
8 Step on left diagonally forward bumping left hip
PIVOT 1/2 TURN LEFT, PIVOT 1/4 TURN LEFT, HIP BUMPS 4X
1-2 Step forward on right (with optional hip bump), pivot 1/2 turn left stepping on left
3-4 Step forward on right (with optional hip bump), pivot 1/4 turn left stepping on left
5-8 Bump hips right, left, right, left
(or shake your bootie when the music says "shake it",
or do a funky dance move when the music says "dance")
STEP SIDE, TOUCH 4X (WITH OPTIONAL BODY ROLLS OR HIP ROLLS)
1-2 Step right with right (optional body or hip roll), touch left beside right
3-4 Step left with left (optional body or hip roll), touch right beside left
5-6 Step right with right (optional body or hip roll), touch left beside right
7-8 Step left with left (optional body or hip roll), touch right beside left
PADDLE TURN 1/4 LEFT 4X (WITH HIP BUMPS, BODY/HIP ROLLS, ETC)
1-2 Touch front with right, pivot 1/4 turn left on left (bump or roll hips as you turn)
3-4 Touch front with right, pivot 1/4 turn left on left (bump or roll hips as you turn)
5-6 Touch front with right, pivot 1/4 turn left on left (bump or roll hips as you turn)
OR double time the counts doing two paddle turns to make the 1/4 turn (5&6&)
7-8 Touch front with right, pivot 1/4 turn left on left (bump or roll hips as you turn)
OR double time the counts doing two paddle turns to make the 1/4 turn (5&6&)
