BLUE BAYOU
CHOREOGRAPHER: William Sevone (WM '71) (October 6th 2002) Fremantle, Australia
email: williamsevone@yahoo.com.au
COUNT: 32
TYPE: 4 Wall Line Dance
LEVEL: Advanced Beginner
MUSIC: Blue Bayou by Linda Ronstadt-96 bpm (The Very Best Of/The Singles Collection/O Sister Where Art Thou)
Choreographer's note: Linda recorded this song in 1978, some 11 years after she made her first
recording and 15 years after Roy Orbison co-wrote and sang the original version. This version
is a lot slower than the 120 bpm version by Roy, but if you don't mind allowing the 'softness'
and possibly some styling to disappear, then Roy's version (though a different rhythm) DOES work
well with the dance.
Dance starts on the vocal 'Saving....' as in 'Saving nickels, saving dimes..'
after the first verse of the song.
If you dance to Roy's version you CAN start at the very start of the vocals.
