GETTING CLOSER...!

CHOREOGRAPHER: William Sevone (WM '71) (September 5th 2002) Fremantle, Australia
		email: williamsevone@yahoo.com.au
COUNT: 32
TYPE: 4 Wall Line Dance
LEVEL: Intermediate/Advanced
MUSIC: Love Is After Me by Charlie Rich-125 bpm ('The Complete Charlie Rich On Hi Records')

- this album is available throughout the world. The music also appears on an album
called ' The Twisted Wheel Story' which is only available within Europe and the USA.

Choreographer's note: Please indulge an old man with a long memory...This dance is
a continuation of the theme that I used for the dance 'Northern Soul', the only
difference being that the music (and singer) this time are the 'real mcoy' from
that period in time. Back in the late 1960's, this piece of music was a 'floor
filler' for the 'Northern Soul' dancers. The record label used to be covered up and
was referred to as a 'secret sound' by the D.J's at the time. If it wasnt for
Charlie who in the early to late 1960's bended music genres, combining country,
jazz, gospel, blues, soul and rockabilly into new forms of 'Country Music' (which
were critically acclaimed - but a financial disaster as far as chart hits were at
the timer) todays Country 'stars' may well still be 'doing the rounds'. He started
making records in 1958 but only had one hit prior to his R&B top 30 hit 'Mohair
Sam' in 1965, he had to wait around eight years before success came knocking on
ther door again - by which time he had become the 'Country' singer which most
people know today...and the rest (as they say) is history. Charlies last album in
1992 ('Pictures & Paintings') was jazz influenced - musically 'his own man' to the
end, he died in the summer of 1995.
