This mixer is danced counterclockwise around the floor in a circle.
Couples face forward in line of dance in side by side position with
both hands joined at waist height (man’s right to lady’s right,
left to left) her left hand under his right arm (cross in front position)
1-8 Men begin with their left foot and Ladies with their right
Walk forward 4 steps, pivoting 1/2 turn on fourth step
turning in towards each other with hands still joined.
Walk backward toward the line of dance 4 steps
ending with weight on outside foot (man’s right, lady’s left)
9-16 Walk forward-(still against line of dance) 4 steps
starting with inside foot (man’s left, lady’s right),
pivoting 1/2 turn on fourth step, turning in toward each other.
Drop joined hands and join man’s right hand and lady’s left.
Walk backwards 3 steps ending with weight on outside foot
(man’s left, lady’s right).
Bring inside foot alongside with a touch. (no weight change)
17-20 With inside hands still joined (with a little space between partners),
each partner steps sideways toward each other on their inside foot
(man’s -right, lady’s left), hips almost touching.
Each brings outside foot alongside with a touch. (no weight change)
21-24 Man does a 3-step grapevine to his right and
brings left foot alongside with a touch.
Lady does a full turn to her left on 3 steps starting with her
left foot, then brings her right foot alongside with a touch.
Note: While the man is moving to his right,
he leads the lady across in front of him as she is doing her turn
and they now join hands with his left and her right.
They have now changed places and he is on the outside of the circle
and she is on the inside, still facing line of dance.
25-28 With inside hands still joined (with a little space between partners),
each partner steps sideways toward each other on their inside foot
(man’s left, lady’s right), hips almost touching.
Each brings their outside foot alongside with a touch
(no weight change).
Each takes a step sideways away from each other with their
outside foot and brings their inside foot alongside with a touch
(no weight change).
29-32 Note: on the next 4 counts, the man will move forward to the
inside of the circle and join hands with a new partner.
This will be the lady who was in the row in front of him.
The lady will move backward to the outside of the circle
and join hands with a new partner.
This will be the man who was in the row in back of her.
Lift joined hands to form an arch which the lady starts to go under.
Lady does a full turn to her right to the outside of the circle,
ending up with the weight on her left foot.
During this turn she lets go of the hand of her partner
and joins hands with a new partner.
Man takes 4 steps diagonally to his left,
moving forward to the inside of the circle,
ending up with the weight on his right foot.
Man drops the hand of his partner and joins hands with a new partner.
